Helping GLBT Teens Achieve Greater Success Through Higher Education
Kansas City, Mo. - Tuesday, May 1, 2007 - The Dillenkoffer Endowment is pleased to announce the recipients of its 2007 scholarships:
- Ryan Wilson of Minneapolis, Kansas - four-year scholarship of $10,000 per year
- Rachel Gadd-Nelson of Kansas City, Kansas - one-year scholarship of $1,000
- Alyse Gordon of St. Louis, Missouri - one-year scholarship of $1,000
- Jordan Timm of Marion, Kansas - one-year scholarship of $1,000
The Endowment was founded in loving memory of the late Gayle Dillenkoffer, who had called Kansas City home. “Last year at this time, we were mourning the passing of our partner and friend, Gayle, a true humanitarian. A year later, we are able to celebrate her legacy of helping others by awarding The Dillenkoffer Endowment scholarships to four deserving recipients. Ryan, Rachel, Alyse, and Jordan are exceptional students, assets to their communities and positive role models for all young adults,” said Frank Dillenkoffer, Gayle's husband and Honorary Chairman of the Endowment.
The Dillenkoffer Endowment was formed as a Missouri nonprofit corporation in 2006. The Internal Revenue Service has determined that the Endowment is a tax exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, and that all contributions are tax deductible by donors.
